I had been playing with the idea of sitting the USMLE step 1 since the start of medical school, but it seemed unmanageable. I became aware of the course run by Liberty Medics "How to Make it in America". After reading only positive reviews about how useful it was, I signed up.
This proved to be a pivotal decision for me. The USMLE went from being this abstract, unreachable dream to a reality that, with a little discipline and a lot of hard work, might actually be something I could do.
Dr Syed gave invaluable advice about how to go about registering for the Step 1 exam as well as great insight into how long the process takes and the importance of planning.
However, what I took away the most from the course was Dr Syed's account of how he prepared for his Step 1 that enabled him to score so high. I based my own preparation largely on his account using very similar material and came away with a 266. I was delighted and so grateful for the course, without which I could not have dreamed of getting such a score.
Now preparing for my elective, I am still referring back to the information delivered by Dr Syed. His course is invaluable, inspirational, and all encompassing: I could not recommend it more highly.
